Set up
your divert: Three

Cuppa works by conditional divert: when you don’t answer (or you’re already on a call), the call passes to your Cuppa number and the caller gets a text-back in seconds. Your phone still rings first, exactly as it does today. Setting it up is three short codes - or a settings page on some networks. This page covers Three and the networks that run on it: Smarty and iD Mobile.

Steps for:

1. Find your Cuppa number

It’s in your Cuppa chat. Not sure? Text status and it’s at the top.

2. On Android: set it in your phone’s settings

Three doesn’t officially support the dial codes, so on Android go straight to settings: Phone app > three-dots menu > Settings > Call forwarding.

Set “When unanswered”, “When busy” and “When unreachable” to your Cuppa number.

The dial codes (**61* for no answer) sometimes work on Three, but on Android settings is the reliable route. Three can also charge for the forwarded leg of a call on capped plans - worth knowing if your plan has limited minutes.

2. On an iPhone: try the codes

An iPhone has no safe settings route (see below), so paste these into the dialler and press call (replace CUPPANUMBER with your Cuppa number):

**61*CUPPANUMBER#

for calls you don’t answer, then

**67*CUPPANUMBER#

for when you’re already on a call, then

**62*CUPPANUMBER#

for when your phone is off or has no signal. If they don’t take, ask Three to set it up for you.

On an iPhone, don’t use the Call Forwarding switch in Settings. On an iPhone it sends every call to Cuppa, so your phone would never ring. If a code doesn’t take, ask your network to set up “divert when unanswered, when busy and when unreachable” to your Cuppa number, or email support@haveacuppa.co.uk and we’ll help.

Switching it off

On Android, back to the same settings page and turn call forwarding off - or, on any phone, dial:

##002#

Do it from your Cuppa chat

Prove it end to end - ring your own number from a different mobile and let it ring out, or just text:
