Questions, answered.
Everything businesses ask before signing up.
- What is Cuppa?
- Cuppa catches the calls you miss. When you can't answer, the caller gets a text, tells Cuppa what they need, and you get one tidy job card here in WhatsApp: name, number to tap-to-call, what they need, when, and their postcode.
- Does my phone still ring?
- Yes. Your phone rings first, exactly as it does today.
Cuppa only picks up the calls you don't answer. Your number never changes and customers keep calling the same number they always have. - How much is it?
- £20/month. No contract. Cancel any time from your WhatsApp chat with Cuppa.
- Is there a free trial?
- No. You're charged £20 when you sign up, then monthly. If Cuppa can't be got working on your phone/network for technical reasons, the first payment is refunded and the subscription cancelled - you never pay for a service that never worked.
- How do I cancel?
- Text "cancel subscription" in your Cuppa chat. We'll text a one-time code to confirm it's really you, and Cuppa keeps working until the end of the paid month.
- What if my card payment fails one month?
- We'll message you on WhatsApp with a secure link to update your card. Cuppa keeps working for 7 days while you sort it.
- Will it work on my network?
- Cuppa works on EE, O2, Vodafone, and Three, including their budget brands (giffgaff, VOXI, Smarty, etc.). Setup takes a couple of minutes and we test it on your own phone before you’re live.
One known exception: Vodafone Pay as you go only allows diverts to voicemail, so Vodafone PAYG customers need a Pay monthly plan first.
Worth knowing: some plans can charge for the forwarded part of a diverted call. Most UK plans don't, but check your network's terms to be sure. - Do my customers need WhatsApp?
- No. They can do the whole thing by replying to the text. If they'd rather use WhatsApp, the text includes a link that opens the chat - their choice.
- Does Cuppa use AI to chat with my customers?
- No. Customers get fixed, pre-written messages and numbered questions. Nothing is improvised.
The clever part is only reading their replies to fill in the job card. - What happens in an emergency?
- If a caller mentions something dangerous (gas smell, flooding, sparks), Cuppa stops the normal questions, gives them the right safety numbers immediately, and sends you a CALL NOW alert. Cuppa is not an emergency service.
- Can I pause it?
- Yes - "pause" or "pause until Tuesday" in your Cuppa chat, and "resume" when you're back.
- How do I know it's still working?
- Text "test my setup" and we'll run the connection check again on your own phone.
- What about calls in the evening or at the weekend?
- They get answered too. A customer who rings at 9pm or on a Sunday still gets the text, still tells Cuppa what they need, and you wake up with the job waiting in your inbox - reply when your day starts, while your competitor is still asleep.
- Can I refer a friend?
- Yes - text "refer a mate" in your Cuppa chat and you'll get a link to pass on.
Your friend gets their first month free. Once they've paid for two months in a row, you get a free month too - it just comes off your next bill, and we'll message you in your Cuppa chat when it lands.
You can earn up to 12 free months in a year. Credit is for your own Cuppa bill only, not cash. - How do I get help?
- Email support@haveacuppa.co.uk and we will get back to you.
